History
Cantine Umberto Bortolotti was founded in 1947 by oenologist Umberto Bortolotti, a leading figure in local enology and a founder of the National Exhibition of Sparkling Wines, who set up the winery in the heart of Valdobbiadene in the post-war years and moved it to its current site in 1954.
The estate is now run by his son Bruno and nephew Daniele, who continue hand-harvesting the hillside Glera vineyards rather than mechanizing, producing single-vineyard Rive bottlings alongside the classic Valdobbiadene Brut and Extra Dry styles.
