History
The Armani family's viticulture in the Adige valley is documented from 1607, making it one of Italy's oldest wine dynasties, now in its sixteenth generation. Antonio Armani moved from the Trentino to the Veronese Valdadige and founded the Dolcè winery, the estate's centre since 1962.
In the late 1980s the current owner Albino Armani, born in 1959, joined his father and focused on the native grapes of the Adige valley.
He rediscovered the near-extinct Foja Tonda (Casetta), a red grape of the Valdadige mentioned since antiquity, which became one of the estate's signatures alongside its Pinot Grigio.
