Hervé Deguillame, born in Marseille and a former navy sailor of Aostan descent, returned to the family vineyards in the valley.

He was a member and winemaker at the Crotta di Chambave from 1991 to 2005 before founding La Vrille with Luciana in 2002.

The first vinification in the estate's own cellar took place in 2005.
