The roots lie in an Association des Viticulteurs begun by Don Bougeat, parish priest of Morgex until 1971.

In 1983 growers formed the Cave du Vin Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle cooperative to pool resources.

Today about 70 families cultivate ungrafted Prié Blanc at up to 1,200 m at the foot of Mont Blanc.
