History

The Pompili family has grown grapes in Montefalco since the 1960s, with Duccio (Aldo) Pompili, the latest generation, making the switch to bottling and selling wine under the family name starting in 2003.

The tiny Pietrauta estate concentrates on just two labels, a Montefalco Rosso called Sololoro and a 100% Sagrantino called Ducciochi, both grown on steep stony hillsides above Montefalco.
