Italo and Giuseppa Di Filippo built the estate about forty years ago at Cannara, near where St Francis is said to have preached to the birds.

It has been certified organic since 1994 and biodynamic since 2008, now with agroforestry.

Their children Roberto and Emma run it, reviving horse ploughing and keeping geese in the vineyards.
