History
The Cantarelli family bought the abandoned Podere Caiano on the hills over Orvieto in 1999 and rebuilt it as Cantina Lapone, now about thirty-five hectares.
Piero and Ramona Cantarelli make some 30,000 bottles of Orvieto and Umbria whites, with an agriturismo among the vines.
