History
The Niedermayr family farms the Hof Gandberg property in Cornaiano, above San Michele Appiano, growing vines alongside grain, fruit and vegetables.
Rudolf Niedermayr introduced organic farming in the mid-1980s, and his son Thomas has since pushed the estate further, converting much of the vineyard to PIWI (fungus-resistant) grape varieties.
