History
Cantina Merano Burggräfler was formed in 2010 from the merger of two historic Merano cooperatives — the Cantina Vini Merano, active since 1952, and the Burggräfler cellar, founded in 1901 — uniting the growers of the Burggrafler hills around Merano.
Nearly four hundred members, many of them very small growers, farm some two hundred and sixty hectares of steep high-altitude vineyard around Merano and villages such as Lagundo, Tirolo, Scena, Marlengo and Lana, making close to a million bottles a year of Alto Adige and Meranese wines.
