History
Villa I Cipressi grew out of a family farm that made honey from around 1970. In the 1990s Hubert Ciacci expanded his father's beekeeping business by planting vineyards and olive trees.
The estate produced its first Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino in 2000, from 3.5 hectares of Sangiovese split between Castelnuovo dell'Abate, at 250 metres on silty-sandy soils, and the western Montalcino hill, at 450 metres on limestone.
Hubert runs the estate today with his wife Patrizia and sons Dario and Federico, still making honey and olive oil alongside the wine.
