History

The estate of Villa a Sesta, in an ancient village on the road between San Gusmè and the Brolio castle, was established in 1779. The village itself is documented from the 9th century, when in 882 it appears among lands granted to the abbey of San Salvatore and later the counts of Berardenga.

In 1989 Riccardo Tattoni bought the property, now known as Agricola Tattoni Villa a Sesta.

Spanning the provinces of Siena and Arezzo across about 1,100 hectares, with 60 under vine, the estate makes Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico.
