History
Tenute Silvio Nardi was founded in 1950 when Silvio Nardi, a businessman and maker of agricultural machinery, bought the west-facing Casale del Bosco estate at Montalcino. He released his first Brunello about eight years later and was among the founders of the Brunello consortium.
In 1962 Nardi expanded east with the 40-hectare Manachiara estate, whose single-vineyard Brunello became a benchmark.
Since 1990 the estate has been led by his daughter Emilia Nardi, who modernised production; today it farms 80 hectares across the two estates, 49 registered for Brunello.
