History
Tenuta di Sesta, in the Sesta locality of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, has origins documented to 714 AD as church and later abbey land. During Siena's expansion it passed to the noble Tolomei family, and in 1850 the brothers Felice and Giovanni Ciacci of Castelnuovo dell'Abate became owners.
When Brunello received its official recognition in 1966, Giuseppe Ciacci bottled the estate's first Brunello — one of only twelve producers at the time, placing Sesta among the appellation's founding families.
Giovanni Ciacci now guides the estate with his children Andrea and Francesca, making Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
