The Salustri family recognized the viticultural vocation of Monte Amiata in the early 1900s.

Working with the University of Pisa, they studied old Sangiovese plants and selected the Clone Salustri from their oldest vineyards.

Leonardo Salustri leads the organic estate today at Poggi del Sasso.
