History

Poggio Antico was established in 1976 by consolidating three neighbouring properties — I Poggio, Le Martine and Madre — though the land itself dates to the early 19th century.

In 1984 the Milanese couple Giancarlo and Nuccia Gloder bought the estate and shaped its modern identity; their daughter Paola has managed it for over 30 years, with her husband Alberto Montefiori.

In 2017 the Belgian entrepreneur Marcel Van Poecke's Atlas Invest acquired the estate; its high-altitude, terroir-driven Brunello is aged in concrete and Slavonian oak.
