History

Poggio al Grillo is run by Giulia Scalzini, a young winemaker and PhD student in oenological innovation, working alongside her father on what is considered one of the smallest wineries within the Bolgheri denomination.

The estate built its reputation on Aleatico before experimenting with international varieties and Sangiovese, releasing its first Bolgheri Rosso DOC in 2023.
