Enzo Morganti gave his daughter Giovanna an olive-grove farm in 1983; she planted the main vineyard in 1985 and made her first Le Boncie in 1990.

Giovanna, an oenologist who had led San Felice's project to rescue traditional Tuscan varieties, planted several of them here.

She withdrew from the Chianti Classico DOCG around 2010-11 in protest at its rules, bottling as Toscana IGT.
