History
Podere Brizio, though founded recently — in 2013 by the Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards group — draws on deep Montalcino history, its labels depicting the Parpagliola coin minted in 1556, when about 600 Sienese noble families sheltered in the Montalcino fortress to keep their republic alive.
The estate sits on the south-west-facing hills of Montalcino, among olive groves, and comprises 33 hectares with over 11 planted to Sangiovese.
It is part of the same family group that also owns Dievole in Chianti Classico, and makes Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
