History
The estate dates to the 1700s under the Peruzzi family and later the Strozzi Sacrati marquises; in 1978 the Lottero family from Genoa took it over and built the modern winery.
Lavacchio was one of the first larger Chianti Rufina estates to convert to organic farming, later adding biodynamic practices.
