History
La Rasina was founded in the 1970s by Santi Mantengoli, whose family had farmed since 1930, at a time when olives and wheat were still central to Montalcino's countryside.
At the end of the 1980s Santi's son Vasco shifted the estate from mixed farming to viticulture, and since 1997 wine has been the focus under his grandson Marco Mantengoli.
The family-run estate spans 45 hectares — 11 of vineyard — all farmed organically, making Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino.
