History

Il Palazzone started up in the late 1980s under the Swiss entrepreneur Mario Bollag, on the high Le Due Porte hills close to Montalcino.

In 2000 the American businessman Richard Parsons bought the estate, keeping its traditional Brunello — long-aged in large barrels — while later building a new cellar.

Marco Sassetti and Laura Gray oversee the day-to-day work of the small, high-altitude estate.
