History

The Davini family bought their first plot at Montecarlo in 1956, later acquiring the Fattoria Michi — where, it turned out, the first Lucchese sparkling wine, 'Anfitrione', had been made back in the 1950s.

On the south-east slope of the Montecarlo hill, long a country of vines and olives, the estate farms some sixteen hectares of vineyard within thirty-four hectares, sixty per cent white to forty red, making Montecarlo Bianco and Rosso, a Vin Santo di Montecarlo, Toscana IGT wines, grappa and olive oil.
