History
Fattoria Lornano is a Chianti Classico estate built around the ancient church of Lornano - documented from the ninth century - on the hills between Castellina in Chianti and Monteriggioni, a few kilometres from Siena.
Owned by the Pozzoli family, it has been a member of the Chianti Classico Consortium since its 1924 foundation and has made wine here since 1904.
Of the 180-hectare estate, about 28.5 hectares are registered to Chianti Classico, with further plots in Chianti Colli Senesi, Rosso Toscano IGT and Vin Santo del Chianti Classico - all built on Sangiovese.
