History

The first record of Dievole is a 1090 parchment preserved in the Siena state archives, from a time when this part of Chianti was worked by Benedictine monks; the name derives from the phrase 'dio vuole' (God willing). For much of the following centuries it was a noble agricultural estate rather than a dedicated winery.

Dievole emerged as a serious Chianti Classico producer in the late 20th century, and in 2012 the Alejandro Bulgheroni family group acquired it, investing to make it one of Castelnuovo Berardenga's top estates alongside a wine resort.

Its wines are Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico, including Riserva and Gran Selezione bottlings such as Novecento.
