History
The Contucci family is one of the oldest in Montepulciano; Andrea Contucci traces the family's winemaking roots to the year 1008.
The tuff-carved cellar within the town walls dates to the 13th century; Palazzo Contucci was begun in 1519 for the Del Monte family and passed to the Contucci in 1642.
A founding family of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, spanning more than 40 generations.
Alamanno Contucci, long-serving president of the Consorzio del Vino Nobile, continues the estate with his children.
