History
The Bucci family's roots at Montalcino reach back to 1798; in 1980 Ado Bucci bought the Collemattoni land and farmhouse — documented from 1672 — from the church, near Sant'Angelo in Colle.
After Marcello studied winemaking at Siena and interned in Montalcino, he convinced his father to start their own project, and Collemattoni was founded in 1985; the first Brunello came in 1988.
Certified organic since 2012, the estate is run by Marcello Bucci with his parents Ado and Vera and uncle Franco, across nearly 11 hectares of Sangiovese.
