History

Siblings Claudio Tipa and Maria Iris Bertarelli bought the ColleMassari estate at Cinigiano in 1998 to anchor the Montecucco appellation they envisioned; the first vintage was 2000.

The ColleMassari group grew to include Grattamacco (2002, Bolgheri), Poggio di Sotto (2011, Montalcino) and San Giorgio (2017).

In 2014 the group was named Cellar of the Year by Gambero Rosso.
