History
The Cesani family moved from the Marche to San Gimignano in 1949 to escape sharecropping, buying their first land and a small house at Pancole, on a hill long planted to vines and olives.
After agricultural studies, Vincenzo Cesani specialised in viticulture and began bottling his own wine in 1980.
Vincenzo has since handed over to his daughters Letizia and Maria Luisa; Letizia, president of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano consorzio, has raised the estate's quality, notably with the Sanice Vernaccia cru.
