History

In the mid-1970s a circle of Swiss wine lovers began importing wine from Montepulciano; when a suitable estate came up for sale in 1987 they founded Canneto AG in Zurich and took over Azienda Canneto.

The new owners restored the estate's buildings, built a new winery and invested in modern equipment, later converting the whole property to certified organic farming starting with the 2017 vintage.
