History
Camigliano has belonged to the Ghezzi family since 1957, when the Milanese businessman Walter Ghezzi discovered and bought the estate after a 12-hour journey from Milan, restoring the medieval village and its vineyards.
The fortified village of Camigliano dates to the 13th century and was once an Etruscan settlement and then an outpost of Montalcino; its 13th-century seal bears a camel, the estate's symbol.
Today led by Gualtiero Ghezzi, the estate spans about 500 hectares with 93 under vine, all organic, producing over 330,000 bottles, mostly Brunello di Montalcino.
