History

The Bindi Sergardi family has been rooted in Siena since 1349, when Niccoluccio Bindi led a Sienese force against Arezzo; the family counts twenty-three generations of winemakers over nearly seven centuries, alongside roles as bishops and captains of the Republic of Siena.

Its historic I Colli estate, a hamlet the family built at Monteriggioni in the late 1400s on the Via Francigena, once hosted the legation of Emperor Charles V. The family's properties now extend across roughly 1000 hectares in the province of Siena.

Today Alessandra Casini Bindi Sergardi runs the winery, making Sangiovese-based Chianti Classico from Vagliagli's Mocenni estate alongside Chianti and Chianti Colli Senesi wines.
