History

Rudi Bindella, a Swiss wine importer whose grandfather Jean Bindella brought the Tuscan flask to Switzerland in the early 1900s, bought the first 2.5 hectares at Vallocaia in 1983 and founded the estate in 1984.

The first vintage of Vino Nobile Bindella was released from the 1985 harvest.

Giovanni Capuano joined as estate manager, shaping the modern productive philosophy of Tenuta Vallocaia.
