History
Argiano was founded in 1580 when the Pecci family of Siena planted vines and olives here; Giovanni Pecci built the Renaissance Villa Bell'Aria to suit the site's airy microclimate.
In 1967 Argiano was one of the founding estates of the consortium that legally established Brunello di Montalcino. In the modern era, under Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and with the celebrated oenologist Giacomo Tachis, it created the Super Tuscan Solengo.
The estate makes Sangiovese-based Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino alongside the Bordeaux-and-Syrah blend Solengo; its 2018 Brunello was later named the world's best wine by Wine Spectator.
