Vini Vaccaro

History

Vini Vaccaro was founded in the 1970s when Giacomo Vaccaro and his wife Caterina bought a small estate at Salaparuta, in the Belìce Valley of western Sicily.

The estate has grown to about 90 hectares across the hills around Salaparuta, an area rebuilt after the 1968 Belìce earthquake.

It is one of the small group of family growers behind the Salaparuta DOC (recognised 2006), whose reds are built on the native Nero d'Avola.
