History
The Cosenza family founded the estate at the end of the 18th century, after Sicily emerged from feudalism.
Around 1970 Ignazio Cosenza gave the family business a new direction, and in 1982 bottled the first Cerasuolo 'Poggio di Bortolone'; it was one of the five original Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG wineries.
A fully underground cellar was built in 2009; Pierluigi Cosenza runs the estate today.
