History
Francesco Russo founded the family vineyards in 1860 at Solicchiata; by the late 1800s Vincenzo Russo was farming the family plots.
In 1955 Francesco and Vincenzo built a small cellar and bottled their first wine, called Solicchiata, in 1956; Etna DOC recognition came in 1968 when the brand became Rusvini, later Cantine Russo.
The fourth generation, Gina and Francesco Russo, runs the estate today with their father Vincenzo.
