History

In 1898 Francesco Nicosia opened his first wine shop at Trecastagni on the eastern slope of Etna, in the golden age of Etna wine.

The house passed from father to son for five generations.

Late in the 20th century Carmelo Nicosia invested heavily in vineyards and a modern cellar, making Nicosia a leader of the Sicilian wine renaissance; his sons Francesco and Graziano continue it.
