History

Cantine Cellaro was founded at Sambuca di Sicilia, in the Belice valley of western Sicily, in 1969, coming into full operation in 1972; it takes its name from the local Cellaro area.

One of the larger cooperatives of the Agrigento hinterland, it draws over 150,000 quintals of grapes from around a thousand members across more than fifteen hundred hectares, vinifying Nero d'Avola, Grillo, Chardonnay, Syrah and Nerello Mascalese into DOC and IGT wines.
