History
Cantine Santa Barbara is a family winery in San Pietro Vernotico, in the Brindisi countryside of the Salento, led across three generations by the Giorgiani family.
By the early 1980s the estate had earned recognition well beyond its region, being featured in 1982 in the international 'Catalogo dei Vini del Mondo'.
President and oenologist Pietro Giorgiani is credited with reviving and refining the vinification of Susumaniello, a near-forgotten native Salento grape, and the house now works both indigenous varieties and international grapes across its roughly 70 hectares.
