History
Cantina Sampietrana was founded in April 1952 by 68 grape growers of San Pietro Vernotico, halfway between Brindisi and Lecce, to vinify and sell their own wine.
Still in its original building, the cooperative farms about 1,000 hectares and makes some 600,000 bottles a year across the Brindisi, Salice Salentino and Squinzano denominations.
