Cantina Grifo

History

The Cantina Cooperativa della Riforma Fondiaria — known as Grifo — was founded at Ruvo di Puglia in 1960 by a group of growers who chose the value of 'we' over 'I', in the wake of Italy's post-war land reform.

Now some 1,020 members strong, the co-op works the vineyards of the Castel del Monte country between Ruvo di Puglia and the great Hohenstaufen castle, making Castel del Monte and other Apulian wines under the Grifo label.
