History
Villa Era stands on the hills of Vigliano Biellese near Biella, a villa built in the 1880s and owned since the early twentieth century by the Rivetti family, Biellese textile industrialists. Vines have grown on the hill since the Middle Ages.
After a spell of abandonment the ancient vineyard was restored by Franz and Silvia Rivetti in 2006-2007, replanted to Nebbiolo and farmed organically. Reborn as a Coste della Sesia estate, and with its old cellar restored in 2022, it makes the pure-Nebbiolo 'Villa Era' alongside a Rosato and the fresher 'Rondo'.
