History

The Tintero story begins around 1900, when a Frenchman, Pierre Tintero — known locally as 'Pietrin' — came to Piedmont for work, joined the struggling estate of the widow Rosina Cortese, married her, and bottled their first Dolcetto in 1914. Their sons Giovanni and Carlo took over and expanded the vineyards.

Carlo's son Elvio drove the estate's growth in the 1980s and helped define the modern frizzante Moscato style that made Piedmont's sweet sparkling famous. Today the fourth generation — Marco Tintero and his partner Cinzia — farm around 30 hectares across Mango and the Langhe, best known for approachable, honest, well-priced wines.

The range spans Moscato d'Asti (including the rare single-vineyard 'Sorì Gramella'), Barbera and Dolcetto, white blends from Arneis and Favorita, a rosato, and Nebbiolo-based wines up to Barbaresco — a broad, dependable Langhe portfolio.
