History
Walter Bosticardo of Tenuta dei Fiori set out in 1983 to rescue the almost-lost native Gamba di Pernice, planting an experimental vineyard in 1987 and bottling from 1990.
That grape is the basis of the tiny Calosso DOC (recognized 2011), of which Tenuta dei Fiori is a pioneer, in the hills of Costigliole d'Asti.
