History
The Sordo family winery was founded in 1912 by Giuseppe Sordo at Castiglione Falletto. The decisive expansion came with his son Giovanni, who with his wife Maria bought Nebbiolo vineyards — the 'sorì' — in some of the best sites of the Barolo district.
Now in the third generation under Giovanni's son Giorgio, the estate farms 53 hectares.
Sordo is unusual in bottling Barolo from eight different crus across five communes, from Monvigliero at Verduno to Monprivato at Castiglione Falletto.
