History

Francesco Borgogno established the estate in 1897, when his was the only winery on the Cannubi hill; earlier, in the mid-19th century, Cavalier Francesco Borgogno had made and sold wine from his wife's small tavern in Barolo while serving over 30 years as the town's mayor.

Brothers Serio and Battista Borgogno developed the cantina through the 1960s and 1970s, building the house and cellar atop Cannubi and gathering about 3 hectares of vineyard there.

The estate has since passed to Serio's daughters Anna and Paola, and in turn to their children Emanuela and Federica.
