History
In the 1930s the patriarch Cesare Porello transformed a modest property in the sandy Roero hills at Canale into a proper winery, alongside the peaches for which the area was then famous.
His sons Riccardo and Ettore continued the family tradition, and since 1995 Riccardo's son Marco Porello, an oenologist, has led the estate.
A historic Arneis producer, Porello centres on Arneis and Nebbiolo, from vineyards including Camestri at Vezza d'Alba and Torretta.
