History

The Busso estate began in 1948 when Guido Busso bought a small parcel in Albesani, at Neive, and planted the family's first vineyard by hand; he died young, in an accident, before seeing it flourish.

At the end of the 1970s Piero Busso, deeply attached to the land, took over the winery and produced the first Albesani Barbaresco in 1982. The family expanded with Bricco Mondino in 1985 and the prized Gallina cru in 1999.

Today the Busso family works about 10 hectares in Neive, making single-vineyard Barbaresco from Albesani, Gallina and Mondino.
