History
The Piazzo estate was founded in 1969 by Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia, newlyweds from farming families who chose to invest in the then-desolate Langhe at San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, near Alba, betting on Nebbiolo.
Their first wine came in 1979, soon labelled Barbaresco; when their daughter Marina and her husband Franco joined, the estate grew, releasing its first Barolo in 1985.
Today Marina, Franco and their sons Simone and Marco run 70 hectares, 60% Nebbiolo, making both Barolo and Barbaresco.
