History
The Negro family's roots at Monteu Roero go back to 1670, when Giovanni Domenico Negro owned a house with cellar and vines in the Roero. In the early 20th century Angelo Negro, known as 'Angelin', worked a small farm of two hectares.
In 1971 Giovanni Negro produced the first dry Roero Arneis on record, a landmark in establishing Arneis as a dry varietal white rather than a sweet or blending grape.
Today Angelo Negro e Figli farms around 60 hectares across four sites — Cascina Perdaudin at Monteu Roero, Cascina St. Vittore at Canale, Cascina Basarin at Neive and Baudana at Serralunga d'Alba — spanning Roero and the Langhe.
